PE Classroom Instructions / Procedures
30 minute class / 3 minute transition

Entering the Classroom
  • Walk to your SPOT
    • criss - cross apple sauce
    • eyes on teacher
      • demonstrates that you are listening
      • shows respect by giving me your full attention
  • Glasses / Valuables
    • put on the radio cart
  • Clothing
    • place on the 1st row and 1st set of bleachers
  • SHOES
    • tied and stay on feet
    • miss exercise time - noted by teacher towards earning grade
    • in game - safety issue and not able to participate until have shoes safe
  • EQUIPMENT
    • do not touch unless have been given permission
    • if in PE spot, you find safe spot without touching equipment
  • PROPER GYM NOISE
    • cheering for teammates
    • not Screaming
  • FREEZE / WHISTLE
    • What to do?
      • stop and listen
    • Why?
      • someone hurt and needs my attention
      • teacher wants to talk
    • Freeze - Sit / Whistle - Whistle
  • GO
    • will not execute any instructions until you hear the word - GO!
  • DRINK
    • 5 swallows / 5 seconds - want another drink - Great - go to back of line
    • arm space in front - body heated from activity, allow space for air to help cool down
    • trojan position - all body parts to yourself
  • TRANSITION - anytime we are moving from one event to the next event
    • executed fastest / most efficiently when you keep yourself quiet
  • LINE / BODY SPACE
    • baseline / half court / sideline
    • gameline - 11 seconds ready to pick teams
    • elbow space (chicken) / arm space (helicopter)
  • GRADING
    • Participation / Attitude / Effort / Honesty / Teamwork / Sportsmanship
END OF CLASS
  • review class - sportsmanship / teamwork / shake hands
  • drinks
  • after drink, the class sits in LINE ORDER, 2 lines with space on north baselines
  • Goal - start with 3 minutes
